Ok, I'm ready to make the jump from Beta SP. First, I'd like to understand the benefit of the SDI output option. Is the purpose of the SDI output to eliminate the need of a feeder deck in the NLE system?
Or is it to provide an uncompressed signal (non-pro50) to a hardrive or NLE.
I understand the benefits of having the 24p, shooting on didgital etc, but how shall I convince my editor that he will be able to work in this format? He cuts on a Discreet Edit system with no SDI input.
Also, I sense Panny will cut prices on pro50 stuff really soon, could it be as early as NAB??
