  1. You can try to open a thread here instead. With luck, she will still read today.
  2. Once you probably don't speak my native language, it should be your interlocutor to write in yours -- I stand corrected: «to a clever reader that I am sure you are» or «to a clever read that I am sure you did» Similar idea, anyway. I hope. ;)
  3. Keith, Since I've noticed you have a successive triple post since this morning in Europe -- before that there will be another thread closed once again, I'm afraid you are in risk to become to speak alone to yourself one day. It wouldn't be pleasant to see. Who do you exactly miss? This portuguese here? Because since we are a way more than 10,000,000 allover the world, it is just a feeling that it is an uncalled-for engaging this 'person' here. Or do you miss anyone from the infamous filmmaker's gang joke by any chance? 'cause whenever someone makes mention of 'James/Jim Murdoch' character you don't forget to attack the usual RED supporters at cinematography.com from day one (prepare yourself Tom ;-) not even forgetting Jan's real name now. Do not enroll me in your past mess, OK? Would it work if I'd ask you with a formal please? Sigh. I thought 'the über-variable English skills' could add something more in behalf of the real world to a clever read that I am sure you are, despite your usual not beautiful hate(s) over this RED sub-forum. By the way, once you've finally decided to add your own picture to your avatar, why don't you join us at reduser.net where I have mine? E.
  4. I second the plead. I have my partners asking me the same every day.
  5. Paolo Tinari. He's in Prague nowadays even though for personal reasons. I'm not sure when he'll be back to Rome. He's one of the most coolest guys you can find out whether in these boards whether as your help in real life on any RED issue related to. I am sure he will give you a hand. I surely have his contact but it wouldn't be polite to pass you as obvious once he's based in Italy. You can find him @ reduser.net though. Hope this helps. Good luck!
  6. On the abject thing, well seen. A picture to describe it better? It would be difficult to get it. :-)
  7. On your presumption (but you could get a second colour or are you prepping your application for a tabloid?), bigbrother, you couldn't be more wrong. She's having now her fair sleep at home (lisbon time zone, you know). Husband's working. Moreover, she has no clue about who you are either. I'm not used to tell her about you. In a collective (last time I checked, the cinema is a collective work but maybe there may have differences between people used to live together two months or 2 days...), there are different minds. Taking the prior example, if we just add a blank (it's not necessary more than that) in between: « (...) Jan would probably say you shouldn't waste your precious time going after your precious (?) screenplays directly to the screen, if it wouldn't be a computer screen. It certain lacks the DVD or the Blu-ray player. We didn't write BD recorder but you can take it as granted. (...) » It will offer another reading, can't you get it? As for instance, Stephen's post has a meaning, you've added it a different one with yours. I am quite sure the original one was quite different from the latter one. Same for our distinct opinions about him or you. You are mentioned only as mere example. No more than this. ;) You should be grateful you have your fanboys among them. Don't mistreat your audiences. I know they don't pay ticket but...
  8. From the gang (Stephen's love), in a Emanuel's rest moment: Jan would probably say you shouldn't waste your precious time going after your precious (?) screenplays directly to the screen, if it wouldn't be a computer screen. It certain lacks the DVD or the Blu-ray player. We didn't write BD recorder but you can take it as granted. We call it brainstorming if any reader here will be aware of it.
  9. I can even figure out your reasonable POV on the hyperbole argument. But you should quote me first before taking as granted that every RED customers or users eat from the same menu.
  10. Shot on 4K RED ONE S35mm sensor size. 2K (Workflow). Exhibition's print, 35mm film. Kodak, I believe. (lab) Tobis [ LINK ] in Lisbon.
  11. As far as the first part concerns, I just can say it is well seen. I'm just trying to refrain (at least I hope) their jokes over here for respect towards Stephen, David or even Tim Tyler. But for your own sake, I can assure to you they are all shooting nowadays, not sailing through daily web. On your second part, it's just your original humor which you're already used to show off to everybody that comes to read these boards. Not fake copies. I'm sure (we know) there are a lot of people who come, read, disagree with your RED bashing. But 'cause these other posters feel threatened to be insulted when they express themselves their opinions freely only why they say what they think about RED, they are not posting their own impressions or experience among you so often as they could do. A few of you seem to me a bunch of guys in certain regions of Europe during the '30s. Yet about facts, here's another one: I've just watched, last night [ LINK ], a short [ LINK 2 ] made by a former student not from the traditional official filmschool but outside [ LINK 3 ]. Never in Portugal, a northern student could have the opportunity to shoot in 35mm till now without to go to the big town as I did myself in order to conclude my four-years BFA in Directing and Editing before dreaming with a 35mm camera. Yesterday night, a short 35mm shot was 1st part of a multi academy awarded digital shot feature (Slumdog...) where there was another preview, RED shot (Che). Is it allowed to me to post my impressions on it without being attacked just 'cause I have facts over some usual hate from one or two posters who are always trying to denigrate RED and its customers or shooters, trying to re-write the truth as it could be possible to argue against just evidences? In a single line, RED ONE footage (@ the big screen) is beyond my initial expectations. Same for the people with me yesterday night. All graduated by Lisbon_Film_School (including from the cinematography department). The best I could check. So far. :-) PS [EDIT] You asked it, you've got it.
  12. I could check this your provocation only today. What's your problem? Didn't your mother teach you to respect the others? Or at least their opinions?
  13. Your POV, Tim, is from a professional, I believe. Used to a different sales approach, as we all know. Jim has to deal with his visionary dream and target offering his products to a vast group of potential customers. As RED customer, I must say I like to know that he's reaching his policy and goal, getting success with the economies of scale strategy in order to keep the prices down. Same with Jan, I think.
  14. Stephen, Where have you found this information? E. :-) EDIT -- Editing the quote.
  15. Jan, You've forgot the Canon 5D Mark II. ;) Emanuel :-)
  16. Valuable helpful post, thanks for posting. As matter of fact, highjacking your 'pas de deux' (talk) or climbing the horse too, it should be useful to listen you about those 24p conversion tests there: What do you think about them beyond the fact it should be better to shoot 24p native (but that camera doesn't offer other than 30p mode) ?
  17. For the viewfinder, you can handle with it: http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/990198-post41.html Courtesy by Chris Hurd from dvinfo.net. Plus, I wouldn't expect so much from Panasonic after the lowrez 960x540 fiasco of three years ago (HVX). Here's the camcorderinfo.com input on subject: http://www.camcorderinfo.com/content/Panas...eview-36059.htm Unfortunately, the only 'no-brainer' I've checked it out is the D5 Mark II or perhaps one of the new Canon's (HF S10/100). It's 1/2.6" against 1/4.1" sensor size and 24Mbps vs. 17Mbps and the HDC-HS300 is «the top-of-the-line high definition camcorder from Panasonic coming for 2009». Consumer side, of course. And beyond that?
  18. Not this one. But other models: http://www.cinematography.com/forum2004/in...showtopic=35725 As well, the cheaper HF S100.
  19. The true indie spirit... Congrats and KUDOS to you -- I hope you succeed! Greetings from south nowadays, Emanuel :-)
  20. HF S10 Dual Flash Memory From a 8.59 Megapixel 1/2.6-inch CMOS http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controll...delTechSpecsAct

  22. I know. Not by all, but especially as often as a few teenagers are used to a sort of an odd cult there. The problem is when this is as contagious as an epidemic. Beyond that, there are not so unusual company interests. And I have all the gang of my partners banned over there. Each day I am arguing into my inner circle about its relativity. Who knows, may I have some success with my latin? Not so sure though in any way other than a part of it.
  23. These silly anti-euphemisms are too much old fashion and should be out of order.
  24. He isn't actually so far away from reality indeed. Funny, but that's the way that it is.
  25. I fully agree with you on this. But... And an aesthetic one? I am sure you're forgetting something over there. EDIT -- After a few cuts now, I stand corrected.
