  1. Hey Haakon, I've been watching this camera very much as well. We're just getting footage from it, and nothing is available in actual DVCPro format, but I have high hopes. I've shot a couple shorts and one feature with the DVX and look forward to making the jump to HD with the HVX. I'm curious, do you have a link for some of your work? And Michael Collier, I would love to see some of your work. You should post links to your websites or IMDB profiles in your personal info here.
  2. I'm inclined to think the answer is not that simple, depending on the likelihood of actually going to film. We're in the last stages of post-production for a low-budget feature which we shot 4:3 and cropped. Because of our low budget and thus our lack of time in set-ups and shoot time, we found the choice to shoot and crop was best. It also gave us a second chance in post to recompose shots we would have had to live with had we shot with the anamorphic. We had already made this decision when we heard about Nancy Schreiber's cinematography award at Sundance for November, shot with the DVX. She also opted for a 4:3 shoot after blow up tests convinced her the Panansonic anamorphic adaptor was soft. That was reassuring to us going into our shoot without it. Your decision, of course, depends on the likelihood of a blow-up to film. But Nancy Schreiber and her team at indigent planned a blow-up from day 1. Good luck.
  3. Well said, George. I've been reading this forum for over a year and it has been a huge help in my self-instruction on video work and cinematography. The last six months was spent shooting my first DV feature on an AGDVX 100. Finding the time and resources to complete this project without losing my mind was an enormous challenge. You're right - the people who spend all their time with these inane discussions obviously have nothing better to do. Personally, I've got some footage to capture. Keep up the good work, guys.
