I am directing a feature beginning of next year with two well known British actors. Budget a humble $4m.
But trying to find the right DP is another thing altogether. So I figured the best thing is to solicit the advice of those who love DP's most - other DP's!
Because of investor demands, the DP needs credits on at least three films of comparable size - or big budget TV.
As an indicator, if I could afford him, Janusz Kaminski would be my preferred choice.
So my question to you is, which cinematographers (nationality unimportant) might you recommend? Baring in mind budget and the need to shoot fast - but not too fast. :)
Any suggestions, including examples of their work I can get on DVD or video, would be very gratefully received.
