  1. Hello I am just starting and I'm looking for some advice on what books would be worth reading I just finished Bret Sterns "How to shoot a feature film for under $10,000" and really liked it. I'm looking for something that will teach about cinematography or just the movie making process 16mm or digital. Anything that might help would be appreciated. I was looking at the book "shot by shot" it looks helpfull anyone know about it? Just looking for info on how to tell a story with film what kind of shots to use and how to light a scene ?
  2. Hello I have a panasonic pv-gs70 mini-dv camera.. I have made a few movies with my friends, but I was really hopping to do soemthing fairly seriouse before i decide to go to college for film next year. The camera has 3ccd's and its picture seems to be good to my standards, but is not always perfect. I was wondering if I could use the camera to make a short movie that would be up to festivals standards. I just want to be able to do soemthing with my movie after making it. I bought an external audio technica atr-25 mic and use adobe premeire. Is there anything else i would need to make a quality digital film? What should i do with it after post production? I know alot of films are made with the xl-1 and even the gl-1 and vx-1000 have made some quality movies the pv-gs70 doesn't seem to be to far off from those. Thans alot Bryan Doyle
  3. So buying and developing super 8 film could be around $50 for 3 minutes.. And from there it could be $100's to transfer to video... If i was hopping to shoot a 5-10 minute short film and some how get it onto my computer what would be the best way and what would the price be.. I was palnning on recording sound seperately and putting that in once on my computer as this i feel comfortable with.
