  2. Hi, This is the first time I have ever posted anything, Im new to the site. So Im sorry if this has been asked before. Iam a BA student in my final year, and at present I am a DP on our 16mm graduasion film. So at the moment I am trying to decide on stock, equipment and so on. I spoke to a company today in regards to the developing and telecine, I asked them about prices and procedure and was told they will do it to beta sp. When i asked about transfering to mini dv and if it would be a copy from the Beta sp. (because I was worried about a generation loss) They told me that it would be a copy from the Beta sp, but it wouldn't create a generation loss. They didn't explain why the generation wouldn't be lost, I always thought that a copy would incur some form of loss. So my question is can anyone explain why the generation is not lost? thankyou for your time
