  1. Hi Guys, Here is my beautiful Arri III 3-Perf camera kit for sale on Ebay. Camera is beautiful and very hard to come by in 3-Perf format. Selling to buy more gear. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110914433597 Thanks. Brooklyn
  2. A major issue in owning your own camera is the constant maintenance and care required to keep the thing running. If you do have even little problems and need repairs etc, you can very often find yourself going backwards. All it takes is one shoot under really harsh conditions and you'll be pulling out every screw and soaking it in CRC, or someone will be charging you an extortionate amount for the privilege . It's often better to establish a good relationship with someone at a rental company and save yourself the trouble.
  3. G'day guys, are there any professionally based cinematography courses in the US that provide in-depth masterclasses to those already practising the craft, but wishing further their skills? Maybe not just a week, but a month or six-weeks? Most courses seem to cater to people with little experience, (which is cool and no doubt makes much cash for the various schools), but what about people with existing working knowledge who wish to go deeper in a professional cinematographic environment? There must be something out there! It's hard to believe that the filmschool wars of the last two decades havn't produced further education for people already shooting, who wish to brush up their skills and explore new avenues, or those who wish to watch and learn from other commrades in the field. Obviously, there are many day-long, week-long courses, but they always seem to skip over the minutia and focus on the broad brush strokes . Do people know of any longer courses worth investigation? Cheers :D
  4. Thankyou gentlemen, I'll report back with my findings after the test. I'll try a few things and see what happens. Cheers
  5. Hi, Shooting a MV on S16 - 7218 in a full white studio. Director wants band to play infront of video projection played on wall behind....phasing out the roll bar is a non issue, but my main concern is projector colour temp. The video projections will also be from 16mm, but in B&W. The band is to be in colour. I'm thinking the CT of the projector (LCD or Straight video) will be bluish and much closer to daylight. Anybody ever done this before? I just want the B&W to read as neutral, with no colour cast. (I'm going to test, but thought I'd check out you folk first!) Cheers PS. Posted examples would be lovely if anyone has any :D
  6. I just can't wait to hear about the poor Steadicam Op who has to fly with the Genesis onboard...It's gonna make for some funny poop on set I would reckon. Singer - "I want this 360 around routhy in this barn in shitsville middle of Australia...by the way, haven't art dept. done a great job with the pillars". To which the our long suffering steadicam op passes out on the spot and is crushed by the Genesis, and then electrocuted cos its pulling 17 amps:)
  7. Thanks Kevin, I should have mentioned that I'll correct with an 85 in camera:) Did it transfer well in telecine?
  8. Hi guys, just wondering if anyone has advice for shooting location day (afternoon) interior scenes on the Fuji 500T 35mm stock? Does it respond well to HMI's or is it best to perhaps shoot with larger tungsten fixtures and correct them back? The film is a comedy, so it needs to have an understated style, but still a strong look. Just wanting to get some feedback aside from my own tests. Shooting GII with Primos. Small house, big windows. Cheers from OZ :D
