I dont think youre crazy - except if you buy a Steadicam! My advice is that you should get a good Steadicam Owner/Operator. A good operator will want to use his own gear or gear he is familiar with and of course you want a good operator. Operating Steadicam on a feature takes 5-10 years to master.
