  1. it's beautiful isn't? there are some clips on youtube floating around. i watch them when i need to remind myself. i found a great black and white documentary about the chernobyl called "Pripyat". it almost feels like Tarkovsky's Stalker. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fmr1pWnBf3Y i hope i can achieve the same look on plus-x, outdoors and indoors.
  2. continuing from my post, the indoor scenes of my short film takes place in a small, old apartment. the images in my head are quite noir-ish (single source of light, shadows...). i'm thinking of a bergman-esque "persona" feel.
  3. yeah, a film noir feel. a nykvist feel is also good.
  4. i shot with kodak plus-x before. while the outdoor shots are great, the indoors are quite dark. how much lighting do i need to get a decent picture from plus x when shooting indoors? also, what kinds of lights should i use? watts? thanks!
  5. is there any other way to give the images i'll shoot in canon 814 a much better look? any recommended attachments to achieve good images on this camera?
  6. is it possible to fit a prime lens on a canon 814? if it's possible, how is it done? i am not very knowledgeable about these things but i am interested in using one to a super 8 camera. any help will be appreciated.
  7. i am wondering if it is worth buying a pressure plate (from gk) to use for the b/w plus x? i'll be using a canon 814 auto zoom so i am wondering if i should use a pressure plate or not for it. i would appreciate any helpful answers. thanks.
  8. i saw a documentary for his latest film: brand upon the brain. and i noticed that he had this big lens attached to his super 8. since i am no camera expert, was he using a wide angle converter or an anamorphic lens? and how did he get that widescreen on "heart of the world"?
  9. rick, another question: will it be alright if i file down the gate of my projector in order to get the whole frame of my film? i know i read about this somewhere but i can't remember.
  10. bump^^ i hope somebody would answer this. it sounds interesting.
  11. oh! well, $27,000 doesn't sound too bad, considering it is a feature film :) are you planning another super duper 8 feature in the future?
  12. my jaw just dropped on the floor :) do i have to accurately measure the gate in order to get that 16:9 screen? in the perfect world, i want to get this right the first time. i am planning to use the super duper 8 format for my first feature. hopefully, it won't cost me much. i hope.
  13. thanks rick. how much was your budget on "sleep always"? (if you don't mind)
  14. which side(s) of the gate should i file to have a super duper 8? some pictures of a widened super 8 gate would be great. i am interested in this format. i really want to push the beautiful images of super 8 despite its limitations.
  15. since filmshooting.com doesn't have the manuals anymore. i need a manual to learn the camera's curve. thanks.
