  1. Good point. It would be slo-mo. I found this article over on 2-pop, (actually, you posted on it David) which explains the process. I would have to digitize the material at full rez, use the frame rate converter and then output to a DVCPRO50 deck then digitize that material. Not exactly a quick work around but do-able. Here's the link if anyone else is interested: http://www.uemforums.com/2pop/ubbthreads/s...=5&o=&fpart=all
  2. Hey all- We are bidding a job to be shot with the VariCam and possibly transferred to DVCPRO50 for post. I just want to confirm that it is possible to transfer material that was shot at 60FPS and that it would be extractable from the SD dubs by Final Cut. Anything I need to know or take into consideration?
  3. While we havent done a DVCPRO50 to DVCPRO100 transfer yet, I can tell you this: the 900 is one amazing camera. Since day one, it has been 100% solid and reliable, plus our clients love it. We are VERY glad we went with the 900, the quality of the image is leaps and bounds over the 24p MiniDV based cameras. I would post your same question to either the SDX-900 forum here or at the broadcast camera forum over at 2-pop to get specifics about quality in the transfer. 2-pop forum Of course, people will tell you that if you want HD quality, shoot HD but the 900 is going to give you a beautiful, and probably better image than the HDV cams when transferred to HD. -e-
  4. This is from the Goodman's Guide to the SDX-900, talking about the Output Character setting: "In TC mode, where the time code display appears in the picture is determined by the ID POSITION setting; time code will be centered on the bottom when ID POSITION is set to UPPER R or L and centered on the top when ID POSITION is set to LOWER R or L" ID POSITION is located in the Main Menu, under VF >> VF Indicator 1 A brand new SDX-900 says that you have this set to LOWER...give that a look-see! -Evan-
  5. Hey all- I've got my SDX hooked up to an external monitor right now running from the video out and my TC is on the lower 3rd. Through the "USER (VTR)" menu, I've choosen output select >> output character >> TC. Dont know why it would differ from camera to camera but, who knows? -Evan-
