  1. While I do not care to become a DIT'er I would like to learn how to fix the cameras and all that jazz. It seems like knowing how to fix the cameras in addition to being able to shoot properly would help me get a job. Is this a good thought? Are there other ways to learn the expensive cameras without forking over too much dough, such as books, etc..? I read "How video works" and that was helpful, but something more specific to certain things - i.e. you mentioned viper, dalsa and such. Thanks for all your help.

    DIT training

Hello, I am just wondering if ya'll know of places for DIT training.
  3. Well the finger was out of focus, so I suspect he made a little fake finger and stuck it between the two fingers and wiggled them. I think this is further encouraged, by the fact that the middle "hot dog" finger kinks at it's tips, which doesn't happen when you do the trick to yourself. I'm not very privy to animation tricks, but how did gondry do the shot were Stéphane walks behind and in front of the stop motion type writer?
  4. I am a student shooting a short on 16mm and I was wondering what kind of surface would be the cheapest and most effective? I care about realism, but it is not the priority. The two surfaces I've thought about are standard white diffusion or a white sheet (after all I am a student). Also I only need a surafce that is about 6' by 6' so size is not a huge worry. Thanks
