  1. Thanks for the suggestions, i am going to try and do that as much as possible, but due to the limited budget i can't do everything that i wan't...but you both absolutely right...also i think i should just use my design knowledge, and not freak out so much... After all i wouldn't be doing what i do if i knew nothing at all about it??? thanks again ^^
  2. I am a production design student who works very closely with my cinematographer for all the films we produce. we are currently in pre production for a short horror film to be shot in black and white. I have never shot in black and white before and am very uncertain on how to design the wardobe for lighting in black and white. I am in desperate need for someone to update me about how to read the tonal values of colour so that I will know exactly how they will read on the processed film. I find it extremely difficult to look at light colours and know what value thery will read as on the gray scale. How can I go about finding more information about this in order to create ample colour and obviously texture variations and contrasts for my cinematographer. for instance which colours look best, what should I shy away from??? I have found absolutely no answers as yet am hoping that this recommended resource will be able to solve my dilemma. With thanks, Latisha :o
