  1. Use a mirror and direct your fixtures to it, the beam will be much more hard and with sharper shadows cause the mirror will you will increase the distance between the source and the subject (well at least more than what you can put a fresenel or a Par in the space of the room)

    Deja-Vu (Lol) sorry.

  2. Deakins was great with "The Assasination of Jesse James" and "No country for old men", Kamisnki has the credit for translate the feeling of the character to images in"The diving bell and the butterfly" but i was astonish with "Atonement", seriously i don't know who will win, oh and "There will be blood", just impressive!, great nomenees clearly my choices for this year.

My Choice Janusz kaminski for "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly".

  3. In Almendro's Book he explain that he didn't use any filters, he hate them, he don't use difussion filter and any lights except for some practicals inside the hand lamps with hidden wires ( sorry for my english) for the escene of the fire, he painted the bulbs with orange paint for that warming color.

  4. ''I was not vaiting for it but i have nothing more to say that thaks Guillermo for puting the latin cinematography so up.''

I'm sorry but since when does best cinematography have anything to do with nationalities?

Not at all, but is good news to knows that latin filmakers can do it too, is just that maybe he is the first latin DP with a great carrier recognized for all over the world thanks to the academy

  5. Some shots seemed like they were interlaced at some point, giving the movement that video look.

The quality of the image (resolution) overall was fantastic I thought.

I would love to see it on a true HD projector to see the difference.

Anyone know if they shot this on true 24p (or 23.98)?

I know that some of the stuff that looked so crappy on "Collateral" was because it was shot 60i.

I bet this will look great on HD-DVD and Blue-ray.

i think this was shot on 24p but the shutter was fully open (360°) thats why the aspect looks like video 60i.
