One more thing... I'm seeing the price of XL1S at 2289$ on few sites and others are at around 4000$. Has the price for this camera really come down this much after XL2 or was it sold for this low price before also...

Hello friends, It's time to get the camera and I do not have any idea what to get exactly. I'm total novice in the video camera thing and this is the point where I'll be starting to wet my feet in videography. So please help me choose something that might be good for long run.... The things that I will be shooting would be for DVD authoring(which might make it for TV broadcast too). So what camera models will be suitable for that quality? Do I really need to spend extra money on XL2 when I can get the XL1S and do the stuff[if it is capable of giving the quality I want without those extra features in XL2]. But I dont like the missing LCD on XL1S. Is there anyother camera that's comparable to XL1S but also has a LCD screen? And which other cameras are equvilant to XL2 and what are your opinions about them... Thanks a lot, Bye
