  1. Hey, do you still have the XL1s avalible?
  2. Well, realy all i want to know is, what is the simplest way of doing it to video in post.
  3. I cant find the name or how to do this effect. Its the little red and yellow flashy things in this clip where they kinda flicker around transistions. I have Premiere 2.0 and AE with Borris continuem and cine look2. link Thanks
  4. David- Lol, I HATE the GL1. I hate it with a pasion.
  5. Ok, so here is my problem that was just driven home by a shoot in Utah... As some of you know, I do extreme sports stuff like skiing and snowboarding and mountain biking. I am currently using my comunity acces TV stations equipment. They have GL1s that I get to use almost whenever I want. But, there realy kranky about what I am doing with it, even though they take pretty poor care of it themselves (the lenses are always dirty, often I get one without a lens hood or lens cap, etc). This week I was in Utah trying to film a ski segment, but I didnt get much done because of the danger of getting snow in/on the camera. We had PERFECT conditions, good riders and plenty of time, but I was too nervous of ruining the preacious little camera. And now that I look at the footage, I'm a little dissapointed to say the least with the quality these cameras produce. There great for most stuff but I hate the look of standard video so... Anyway, this has made me realise that I need to get my own equipment. I would LOVE to be able to shoot S16mm, but its just to damn expensive for a 15 year old. As far as a camera goes, I need something that is robust, has high quality, 24p and cine adjustments, preferably is compact (not small nessicarily, just compact), has atleast 16x optical zoom, and has a good deal of audio capibilities. I also need to be able to get a god rain/snow jacket for it. As far as the HD vs SD thing, I realy dont care either way. I know SD would be more hard drive friendly though. I personaly do not mind buying grey market/without warnty since I realy dont have the funds to afford buying from B&H or another big shot dealer. I'm sure I'll get flamed for that but thats the truth. If I had a better income, I probobly would since they have treated my mom well with all her digetal still needs. Thanks anyone who wants to respond, Dory
  6. Dont have one haha. I use my public acces stations equipment.
  7. The FX1 doesnt. I dont think the Z1 has it either but I might be wrong (immagine that)
  8. What is the main diference between the two? Does either have a time laps feature? Thanks.
  9. It will cost a shitload o re-record it. BUT, a riff that sounds the same but isnt exact i think is ok... how do you think Wierd Al Yankovich gets off with all those pardays. I doubt the copyright holders would allow him to do that exactly.
  10. You stingy bastard <_< <_< <_< Just kidding lol. Here is something from the website: This product is brand new, factory fresh, and includes a full one year USAwarranty plus all manufacturer supplied accessories. I'm just a cheapo who doesnt like to spend more then I need to. Maybe when I start making 20 an hour or more I'll change but untill then.... Lol. Keep in mind I'm only 15 so there ya go :). Wow I am a thread jacker.
  11. Well I finally got a chance to try it out. It didn't work. reasons: -Too heavy. It actually made me ride a lot worse and my neck was about to freeze up after I was done with the 1 mile downhill run. -Impossible to keep it pointed ahead while keeping the face guard from getting in my way of seeing what I was about to run into. -Cant fit goggles over it, so i kept getting face slapped by branches and mud in my eye. So all in all it was a failure, but it was something to try.
  12. Beyond poor. 80s VHS cameras are pretty bad as far as quality goes. It'd be a good mantle piece.
  13. Well, if you were shooting 35mm I would assume that you could use the same lens, as long as the mount was the same. Or, use a zoom lens on both the 35mm still and the movie cam.
  14. <_< <_< <_< amn I was in such a good mood before you did that <_< <_< <_< just kiddin ya :D Oh and read these guys reviews on Yahoo and Retailer ratings or Reseller ratings or whatever that place is called ;) I'd trust them...
  15. Yup :) As soon as I can afford it (after I get my primary cam) I'll probobly get an Elura and a L-Type braket and a cheep tripod head and do like that.
  16. Heres a couple of pics of my standin helmet cam untill I get the right mounting stuff and smaller MiniDV cam... Ingredents: MotoCross helmet JVC S-VHS-C camera LOTS of ducttape And another one :)

  18. Well, with that amount of money, I'd say look around for a deal on the Panasonic AG-DVX100B... try zoommania.com. Dunno if they do international shipping but they seem to have pretty good prices and good reviews... Good luck!
  19. Yeah and thats alot fo poop to carry in a backpack!!! If I was just doing ski/snoboard I would consider it but carrying that stuff while doing 30mph on singletrack with bigger drops? thats a big fat N-O!
  20. Best thing to do for Hi8 editing would be to get a Dazzle or something of that source. As far as a laptop... I am not a laptop-knowlageble guy so I cant help ya there. How much is 1500 pounds (that is what that symbole means right?) in USD?
  21. Actualy, I think its better to cut your teath on iMovie or Windows Movie Maker, just because you dont have the distraction of all the fancv shmancy effects and tools of a platform like Premiere or FinalCut.
