  1. I did use a tripod on some shots. I was trying to ge a mix of hand-held and tripod shoots. But I take it I should have used a tripod more....
  2. Well I shoot the film on 8mm tapes, so i really didnt have any stabilaziers or any nice features :(
  3. OK, yes I know there all kids in the movie, and it is just plain weird, but it has some nice visual effects, etc. Any feedback would be nice! Star Wars: Darth Paul vs Frodo
  4. You may also want to add some sort of lens flare to sell the effect to. You can do it in Premiere
  5. Well looking toward a more sharp picture, like close to something you would see on like the news when the broadcast something in HD.
  6. I have recentley been interested in the Xl-2. But I decided that I want to go HD instead. Ive researched the FX1, but still have one question. I want to output my footage on a 42' Hd tv but Im wondering if the video will look good on it?
  7. Also what kind of format are you looking at? HD, SD?
  8. Well, yes that does bring up an important subject. But I think that is the right camera for me now. Ive used XL-1s's and those are still pretty good. Thanks for all the help.
  9. Im running after effects and premiere pro on my system. But I realy want to acheive a very cinematic look for my images, so if any one knows anything about the cameras features can you please tell me if there any good?
  10. How much difference in quality is there between the compressed HDV and the DV recordings? What I'm saying is, will it be worth recording uncompressed directly into an SDI card or will some JVC HDV tapes be fine. Are we talking a visible difference, or does it just all come down to overhead for grading during post. (less latitude e.t.c.) Cheers. (This question applying to the JVC HDV models mostly) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It may also depend on what you final output will be. But aslo remember uncompressed footage will take up a lot of hard drive space. Tapes usualy work fine for me, but if size isnt a factor go for it.
  11. Well even with bad lighting you fleshed it out pretty good.
  12. Ok, I do a ton of short film work. I've wanted to upgrade my camera for a while but I never got around to it. I want something with good cinematic control, 24 frame and 16:9 recording. I have heard that the XL-2 should do this but now I want to know if its worth buying? (also if it is good for chroma key sets?)
