  1. Considering the simple construction, I'd say $800 is way too much. If I knew what I was doing, I would try making my own. Unfortunately, a dremel, a drill, and a hammer are hardly suited for such a project.
  2. Ok... anybody got one for sale at a reasonable price? I have the stock 16x lens on an HD100.
  3. I'm having a hard time using the camera when mounted on a tripod, and would like to use a remote focus control on the pan bar. Unfortunately $800 is way more than I can afford. Are there any more affordable alternatives, or even a DIY?
  4. Having some latent Geek-like tendancies, I learned to do basic spreadsheets in MS Works. I have all the different expenses such as hourly, half day, full day rates, cost per tape, and even mileage. It adds everything up, and gives you the final total. For those who hate doing their own spread sheets, there are all sorts of premade and changeable templates online.
  5. I've also heard of people using a wheelchair for dolly shots like this.
