  1. yea there is an image, it's really foggy... but what is the dark spot under each perforation? It's like that for the entire roll... and compared to this negative there is a noticeable difference.
  2. The film was bought directly from kodak... I picked it up myself. Take a look and tell me what you think... Could something wrong with the camera do this? This is the beginning of the roll so that's why the top has nothing at all, but the rest of the roll has the second perf look.
  3. I shot some footage on an NPR and it came back really fogged. Are there any trouble area's where the NPR is prone to light leak? Would pulling the negative one stop during processing be the cause? I think I may have pulled rather than pushed by mistake. thanks
  4. Thanks Chuck, Do you know how they do wide open?
  5. Does anybody know what the widest T-stop is for this lens? If I'm not mistaken, this lens opens to a fairly wide F-stop. My question is would I be able to use this lens for a low light situation? I know a good prime would be ideal, but I need something in a CA-1 mount or C mount (Eclair NPR). Any recommendations for a rental house that might have something like this in the Los Angeles area, a length of around 8mm? thanks -Joshua
  6. Ahh... the grain, didn't even think about that. I'm leaning toward the 50 now. thanks for all the input.
  7. Thanks for the quick reply, I need to figure this out tonight for something I have to shoot tomorrow. We mean the same thing when it comes to the filter, Filter Factor (NDx) of 4/ Filter Optical Density .6, I just called it by the filter factor. Great, I'll set the readings for 50 iso... but more importantly how did you figure that out? is there a simple math formula? Yes, it's outdoors... and I wasn't planning on using an 85, just having it corrected during the telecine transfer. I was told it can be done in color correction. since it'll be the same rating as 50D, what would be the visual difference between the two? thanks again
  8. is exposure adjustment for 200T with an ND4 as simple as exposing for 200T and just opening up 2 stops, or do I have to calculate the iso film speed after the filter is on and take a meter reading using the new effective iso film speed? thanks
  9. Could somebody please tell me roughly how much 1 minute of SD film transfer would take on a hard drive? how much for 1 minute of HD film transfer? thanks
  10. I think that may be a better idea... plus they are much lighter and hand holdable in comparison to the NPR, which I still like though
  11. yeah might be more cost effective, I was just wondering since I just got the npr... timelapse would be nice to do, but I can do without it.
  12. Thanks, George is a really cool guy...I'll give him a call and ask. thanks
  13. So has anybody ever used an NPR for a timelapse project? thanks
  14. I know it seems like a cheesey price, but took it to Mr. Zorzoli of Optical Electro House in Culver (very nice guy) and he said it was good. Here are some pics: http://s92.photobucket.com/albums/l9/cmontboober/NPR/ But I'm still wondering about the timelapse possibility?
  15. by the way... I saw the pics of your npr... really nice man. I bought mine for 900 bucks w/2 mags and the ang. zoom and viewfinder, regular 16 of course.
  16. I have a NPR and I'm wondering if it is possible to do a timelapse. Like one frame a minute... if that's how it works? thanks everyone -Josh
  17. yeah, I'm using the circular filters. Cool, well I'll let you guys know how it goes.
  18. Does it matter what order filters are stacked? Ex. ploa then 85, or vice versa?
  19. I think it would look pretty cool. I found this picture online described as using the "Double 85" effect, this was shot on 500T in daylight... would look pretty sweet if it were surfing. The rest of the article is pretty cool is anybody wants to check it out. http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=htt...l%3Den%26sa%3DN I'm just going to go for it and try a bunch of stuff, see what looks cool and what doesn't. I'll post a link to the results. thanks to everybody for the advice.
  20. Thanks for the apology in advance though, I'm kinda in a rush because I'm having surgery on my foot next week and so I'll probably be on crutches for the rest of the summer.
  21. haha... Yeah I know, It's just that I'm so goddamn anxious to start shooting and I got the film for free, so I thought I might just give it a shot. are there any good inexpensive light meters I should be looking for?
  22. I was thinking it would be nice to have both a 85 and a pola, that way I could use either or both together. Does 85 do anything to day light stock?
  23. I know this is a cinematography forum, but as far as story goes I thought the first three were much better. Regardless, I would still vote John McClane for president.. that guy kicks ass.
  24. Thanks David, how much would a pola filter cut down? I ask because I would rather stick to filters and in camera adjustments, I don't even know what printing down is. What is it? I think I can manage the over exposing and pulling in post. One more question, would the image suffer if I stacked the pola filter on the 85, or should i invest in a 85/pola? Would using a 85/pola affect daylight film? thanks
