i thought about that, but wasn't sure if it would work. So if this camera isn't digital, i can still just put the hi8 tape in my digital sony and transfer it that way? i wasn't sure if something was recorded differently than what it is on my digital camera.

I've always just used my hi8 sony handycam, but am looking to get something a little bit more professional. I've done a couple of weddings and other events with my old camera, but i really want an upgrade. Another question i have is how to transfer footage to my computer. I've been using adobe premiere for editing. If its analog, that means there is no firewire hookup, correct?

Hey everyone, I'm thinking about buying a canon L2 hi8 camcorder for cheap. I've looked around the internet for some info about it, but I haven't found too much. Does anyone have any experience using one?
