  2. As far as I can tell, with the exception of one line your reply has almost nothing to do with the subject of this thread. If you want to bash Redusers, maybe you should start a separate thread rather than derailing this one? As far as the footage goes, I think it's the best independently shot footage available so far from the camera, and I'm looking forward to seeing more from this crew.

And I'd like to add that in the last 20 years, there's been a revolution in pop music production, and it's now possible for someone to create a record in their garage that, in terms of production quality, will sound the same as anything that a major label puts out with their major budget, to everyone except for, perhaps, a recording engineer. It's not just possible - it's been DONE, over and over. Do you all really think filmmaking is that different? Sure, it's more collaborative, but I happen to be of the view that there are hundreds of Kubricks out there who will never get a chance to direct anything worthwhile - until it's possible to do it for a reasonable price. I think the Red is a step down that road.
  5. Maybe I'm misreading you, but you do realize that Stanley Kubrick, Martin Scorsese, Peter Jackson, Christopher Nolan, Wes Anderson, and countless others all got their start making films where the acquisition cost was a significant part of the budget? In other words, ultra low budget movies?
