If you are looking to step up to a mint condition/one owner Sony HDW F900/3 HDCAM format camera, this might just be the one. This camera has only been used by myself as a professional DP/Camera Operator. I have never sub-rented it. It was used primarily to shoot all of the DVD and EPK on-set footage for Spiderman 3 for the first six months of last year. I also have a Varicam & DigiBeta, so I tend to divide the shooting hours up which is why the operational hours are so miniscule. If you look around the internet you can find a few F900/3 cameras for sale for less money, however, check the hours table below and compare. You will see that this camera has less than 1/3 the total hours in all categories than any other one out there for sale. Drum Running: 443HR Tape Travel: 115HR Operation: 618HR Threading: 411 These are stunningly low hours, like a new car with about 7,000 miles on it. It's just getting into the groove. Why am I selling it? After 30 years of hand held camera work my lower back is beginning to complain loudly. I am moving on to a newer F900R (over 2X the price) for a lighter load. I hate to sell this camera because it's been completely problem free during it's short life so far, but I have to use the proceeds to fund the new camera. I am selling the camera with a nearly new Miranda DVC800 down converter/HD-SDI output rear-mount box. This unit is a "must have" for this camera as it not only supplies the necessary HD-SDI outputs (2) but also gives you NTSC down converted composite and SDI outs, AES audio inputs for channels 3 & 4, RS232 control, and lastly a IEEE 1394 firewire output to make 525 or 625 DV/DVCPro25 down converted tapes from. I use an 80gig hard drive unit which attaches to the Anton Bauer plate to do simultaneous DV and HDCAM tapes using this firewire output. I could be convinced to let this NNovia 80gig go with the camera package since it's such a clean post-production solution. The camera is equipped with a HD B&W viewfinder.
