First off, sorry to post such a rookie quuestion. :( I am planning to buy one of those Russian 35mm cameras (Konvas) and sometimes they come with standard, widescreen or super 35mm gates. I thought standard 35mm gates were also standard for the film industry? Once you shoot on standard 35mm, it can be shown on the cinema screen? Am I wrong? Does standard 35mm shoot the 4:3 and anamorphic 16:9? If one shoots standard 35mm would he/she need to convert the format in order to be shown at the theatres? What is the main difference between them and when one would use each gate respectively? Thank you people :lol:

Hi, I have read through other postings some people recommend taking as much as 2 milimeters from left to make the S16 conversion from the regular 16mm gate. Then someone posted that you can also take out 2milimeters to the right (in addition to taking out at left) and you will get a focus as well as ultra 16mm gate. Does anyone know anything about it?

Hello All, I am bying K-3 this weekend and was wondering - since K-3 can only focus from 2 meters - what type of lense should I buy to get the macro focus? i.e. I'd like to be able to make very close-up shots. Also, does anyone know if I should buy any other lenses beside the M42 that the camera comes with? Do the original M42 lenses provide good quality? Many thanks guys :D
