  1. Here is the film I used. Bought it from there as well. So yeah, I guess it being tungsten had something to do with it. My K3 only came with one lens, which I'm not sure what it's for. Refering to this picture, I belive it is the darker yellow one, though mine doesn't seem as dark as that. I loaded the film in a room with no lights on or anything on a very cloudy day, so it was pretty dark. The fog doesn't really concern me though. What stock would you recomend using with the filter(or without a filter) I have?
  2. Hello again. After quite a bit of complications, I got the tape back from the conversion. I'm not sure how/why the color is the way it is, but i'm going to take a crazy guess and assume it has something to do with the light meter? I also don't know why it is very blue. Seeing it made me instantly think 8mm. Here is the clip with no color editing- no color editing and then here is my no-experience attempt at trying to color it with a adobe premiere's color correction filter- color corrected ;)
  3. I noticed this as well. What is a company you would recomend for a good telecine? Another thing which I was completely unaware of was developing film. Me being the idiot who doesn't take the time to read about these things, I sent in the film undeveloped. They contacted me and told me, but were kind enough to do it for me. Is developing something I could do at home or it something else I would have to send in and get done?
  4. Heh, well didn't expect to come back with the topic like this. Anywho, I got the camera, ordered some Kodak 200t / 7274 film to use as a test stock and shot some random shots with my friends. I'm pretty sure I loaded it correctly, I had one problem though. After a certain ammount of film was shot, the film wouldn't fit around the spool anymore. I had a 100 foot roll, and used the spool that came with the camera. So what ahppend was, I had to cut a bit off. I'm not sure how much exactly, maybe 5-10 feet. I sent it to the transfer place the other day to get it transfered to MiniDV (I used Digital Transfer Systems ). Once I get the tape I'll be sure to post the footage to show you how it came out. :D
  5. Yes, I planned on letting the lab know. Thank you to those who replied. Just wanted to make sure. :D
  6. Long story short, the film got all mushed up inside the camera(k3 16mm) because it decided not to keep wrapping around the reel. Bring that this happend, I cut the the mushed film off, leaving the remaining film that went around the spool like it should have. Is it still possible for me to have a telecine done with the footage that I kept? It was really a test roll for me to get use to the camera, but I want to see how the shots came out.
  7. Well guys, I think I did it right. I did it in a very dim room, with the blinds closed. It's very cloudy out today also. I actuaually sent the film into the wrong thing at at first, and had to cut that piece off. Is that alright that I did that? I sent it threw the right thing afterwards, and it seems to be shooting fine.
  8. Mine is daylight. I could just do it in a dark room then?
  9. Loading on a Krasnogorsk 3. Anyone have a good guide on something like this? I've looked at this, but it doesn't give great detail.
  10. Just recived my first 100' roll of kodak 200t / 7274. From what I understand, the loading needs to be done in dark. I'm new to this, so does anyone have any suggestions for loading, while being able to see what i'm doing? ~rob
  11. Heh, well that makes sense now. What is the different between the cans? I see Factory, Shortends, Recaned. What makes one better than the other?
  12. Wait a sec. How much does one roll actually go for? I'm looking at filmemporium's kodak rolls, and it says they're only 12 to around 35 cents. Is this right?
  13. Also, where is a good site to buy film? I've been to Kodaks site, but don't see where to actually purchase it. What other sites are good?
  14. First, thanks to everyone who has replied. Very detailed information :D Some of the things i'm not sure are that you guys are talking about. I'm pretty new to all this, so I'm kind of confused. What exactly does the light meter do? Another thing I was wondering was where you could purchase kodaks film of thier website. I see alot of information but no where to buy it. My camera came with 2 rolls of film, so I plan to fool around with those to get the idea of how to use it, then buy more from kodak. Sorry for all the questions, but like I said, pretty new to these things.
