  1. Hello everybody! I'm actually prepping for a short movie for the University of Montreal. It's 16mm on 7218 or 7219 (Vision 3... if I get the ok from my DOP prof.). I have two questions : 1. How to avoid fluorescents flickers? What degrees for the shutter? I plan to shoot at 23,98 fps. because it's intended to be DI'ed. 2. I have 2 scenes involving fluorescents and the idea behind them is to make a "rappel" - recall? - in the colors and the qualities of the fluorescents. One scene will be lit with an actual street publicity panel equipped with 6200K daylight fluorescents and the other one, interior, with the matching tubes. My problem is that I can't change the tubes in the publicity and the desired look is coolwhite fluo. Should I gell the publicity and shoot the second scene with coolwhites or do everything daylight and colorize it after? I need those green and magenta spikes in the coolwhite regular tubes. Can I effectively get rid of the excessive blue in post? Thanks a lot! Martin Roy Aspiring DOP Universite de Montreal, Quebec, Canada
  2. I don't know if it's secret... but I've heard that... the new platform Vision 3 is coming soon... That person didn't tell any detail but I guess it's based on the same preoccupations as Vision 2... Less grain, more details in high lights/shadows, neutrality, scanning... On my side, I would love a very low contrast/fast film easy to push-process! Hey I'm from the black and white photography school! Martin Roy Student DOP/Colorist Montreal
