  1. Thanks David. I am going to gel up all the lights so that I can shoot at 5600K Although I was reading in a red forum that you should overexpose the green screen by a stop or 2 seeing as shooting in RAW formate the RED could handle it and it would help as the colour would become more saturated. I'm wondering whether this could be true? A bit worried about it all but with some more research I think it should be Ok and will post the results up here as soon as they are done
  2. My second post in as many hours. I'm doing a green screen shoot on the RED in a few days. We have access too all the tungsten lights that we need and a studio with green cyc. My question however is how is the best way to light the green screen effectively. There are several factors that I've been considering 1) I have been reading that the RED responds better to green screen when setting WB to daylight? Is this true. 2) Was also reading in another forum that the RED green screen actually responds better when the green screen is overexposed as opposed to being underexposed? Any other factors that I have missed? Any responses greatly received
  3. Hi guys, How would a camera shake effect like the one used in Timbalands music Video 'The Way I are' be acheived? http://video.google.com/videosearch?q=the+...emb=0&aq=f# I can only think of a couple of ways. In camera: Shift and tilt lens system left loose or some other effect of the same sort? In post: applying a camera shake in the post production stage? Any ideas of how the effect was done?
  4. in terms of lighting it you probably have two main options. expose for the outside or expose for the vans interior. if you want to keep both the outside and the inside at readable levels you could nd the windows but then remember that that is also cutting your interior light also. what i would do is use some bounce just off camera for the sun but this may also prove problematic if the car takes turns etc. your best option for me would be to bring a light inside the van to augment the natural daylight outside. there are pleanty of small daylight fixtures that can be powere through the cigarette lighter output. i would also experiment with the in-camera options, having worked with the 750 before i know there are a lot of options that you can play with to get a more natural 'film' look. these include decreasing the edge detail and boosting the colour detail i have found give rather nice rewarding results. good luck x
  5. The clip looks great. Especially like the fan effect you described earlier with the purple light subtly accentuated by nice sound design. Let us know when we can get our hands on it and if you're ever on another shoot in London and need a hand would be great to help out. Keep up the good work
  6. Hi stephen, i know its an old post but just checked out the trailer and wondered whether there was a way I could pick up the film? Would be great to see more UK talent doing well Keep it up
  7. Are you lighting the scene with the torch mainly as your key? If so, it may be a great idea to place sections of poly (i believe its called beadbord in the usa) that the actor can shine the torch into and get a nice bounce back onto their face which will also provide quite a nice eyelight. you'd be surprised how effective this could be and then you have the oppurtunity to bring the torch closer to the bounce or place the bounce in the best positions to get your effect good luck
  8. Hi Guys, Just wanted to post some pics of my graduation film that I shot on the Sony 750. The 17 minute short was shot on a budget of £3000 ($3500) and the lighting package consisted of 2x 4ft kino's, redheads, 6k hmi and a home-made chinese lantern. The story is of a couple and their baby whose GPS system sends them off course and they have to shack up in hotel 'Oakwood' The owners of the hotel turn out to be a rather psychotic bunch of serial killers who murder all their residents and keep their shoes as trophies. As you can tell, not your average student piece. Also please note that in the second image, the practical screen right flickers on and off during the shot Can only grab two screen shots at the moment due to bandwidth usage but would love to hear your comments on them as more pics will be loaded up soon
