I thought AVI was the quiktime format

Time lapse videos are used when the video being shown shows the passage of time. The speed of the footage can be sped up. It also does not need to be as high quality.

Anyone have any information?

I keep reading about all these new camcorders that look great but the prices are pretty high. The HD thing is still pretty new. should I wait to buy a camcorder like the Sony Handycam HDR-CX7 AVCHD Camcorder or should I just dive in now?
