The 2004 Panavision acquisition of Technovision France merged the two largest companies in the anamorphic lens-rental field. Panavision also acquired Joe Dunton's rental division of Anamorphic lenses, which were used to film 'Return of the Jedi', among other films.
This leaves only Hawk and Power Broker as rental competition. The Panavision mergers account for (estimated) 90% of the anamorphic lenses rentals in the world.
I know this is not a legal website, and opinions may be strong about this issue, but... doesn't this consitute a monopoly ?
