  1. Is there a quality difference between these two lenses. I saw some excellent shots with digital camera and 1.8 but I could not find the same job with 1.9. All I found about 1.9 is junk , I am not claiming lens is worse but shooters were extreme amateurs with cheap processing. And I found there are too many 1.9 for sell and all the digital shooters uses 1.8. Why is that ? Umut Istanbul
  2. I bought an C8 with Paillard 13mm f :1.9 and wanting to take single frame photographs with that camera. I want small digital frame from the frame and I need to learn what is the way to get lowest grain and highest latitude with these lens and FOMA Film. I watched many videos at youtube and there are mountain high gap between the qualities of videos. Some kodachrome shots are breathtaking and there is no grain but Leica like smooth transition , powerful colors , excellent 50s skin tones , glow on the skin edges , wonderful. And I watched horrible bw movies , hell of grain , no sharpness , detail loss , like someone crossed a truck on the camera. I will take may be 2000 frames with that camera and want a kodachrome movie quality and magic from the camera. What is the best processing facility in the world who will test my film for processing before dip the all and get real sharp real black , legendary real grey and white and damm sharpness from the film. 3. I made me to change my plastic Leica with Paillard C8 Bolex. It would be 1/100 economical to use regular 8mm bw film and use the camera as single frame shooter. I want BW art photography grade results in tiny frame may be 4 inches to 2.5 inches frame. I know high quality development in to negative with Pyro , Rodinal , HC110 but I did not hear any legendary developer for positive. Any advise is very welcome, Umut
  4. I am seeing big difference between yesterday and now at the image quality. Can you please shed a light why colors were elegant , basic aberrations least and the illumination was superior to todays episodes. I read about YUV and no compression at camera yesterday.but I am not expert. May be 90s are too early , let say before and after 2002. Thank you very much , every bit of information is very important for me. Is there a books which can tell me the reason ? Umut
  5. Hello Phil Rhodes , What did you mean with studio cameras , are they digital or film ? Umut
  6. I am watching BBC and PBS Antique Roadshow programs from internet and tv. I am just a photographer and have some Leicas and know about seeing image quality. I dont know why but 90s editions have a Dutch Painting Quality Light spreaded everywhere. Images looks so stable and noise free. There is noone looks like a oily bright skin and close ups are catalog quality. What is responsible for noise free , rock steady images , elegant colors and the elegant light spread ? Why no more ? What kind of cameras and lenses they were using. Is VHS or BETA recording have a impact on quality ? How someone accomplish such a quality with post processing ? Thank you, Umut
