  1. honestly no clue lol, I thought maybe it would be easier since the tungsten lights would be warm but I don't know how it would look. I was also wondering, if your shooting with tungsten stock and tungsten lights would the color render the same if you apply the same shift value to daylight stock and daylight balanced lights. So i guess what im trying to say is does a shift with (tungsten balanced stock w/ tungsten lights lets say 3200k to 2800k) equal to (daylight film/ daylight balanced lights 5500k to 5100k)? Or would it look different? Thanks Jesse
  2. Ill be filming with 16mm tungsten and daylight balanced stock, now the school only provides us with tungsten lights. I am trying to get a warm orange/reddish tone on tungsten stock so would 1/2 cto do the trick shooting with tungesten stock or would it be too much? Or would it be easier to shoot with daylight stock and put 1/2 ctb on the lights? I have no idea how warm either would look, any help will be much appreciated. Also this is for a night interior scene thanks Jesse
  3. I am shooting my first film on 16mm B&W for a student project tomorrow, any advice? Considering my two other group members know very little about lighting, exposure, and the camera, I am a little worried that it will all fall on me if it doesn't come out right.
  4. So im a student at SDSU majoring in television, film, and New Media and have about a year left of school. As soon as I found this web site about a month ago it has provided me with a wealth of information and pointed me in the right direction. Currently I am reading camera assistant's manual by D. Elkins, Motion picture and Video lighting by Brown, and Cinematography 3rd.ed by K. Malkiewicz and D. Mullen. So I found a posting on craiglist for a PA job for a television pilot (seems to be professional) and they called me earlier so I was wondering if anyone has any advice on what I should look out for, will I be needing anything, etc.? Also the person said it was from 7am to 7pm Saturday and Sunday, I wont be getting paid but I dont care I just want the experience. thanks Jesse
