  1. I recommend the 858, touchscreen hasn't been a problem for me and the internal spot meter readings are great and bright. You can also use a digital stills camera for a partial reference.
  2. Hello All, I am looking for any leads on crew in the Washington DC area for a narrative project coming up in early January. Both camera and Lighting, shoot me an email or DM me here, thanks! jessearagon@icloud.com
  3. I would test the batch out, years ago I remember using some old stock and the backing would get stuck to the film... :(
  4. Great video on cronenweth, thx for sharing.
  5. Hey guys, just wondering if anyone has a recommendation, where I can take an m18 feeder cable to get fixed, it seems like one of the ends(connector got bent) thus the lamp will only strike when the cable is folded to one side.
  6. Another great pdf! thanks for sharing :)
  7. Another great pdf, thank you Stephen!
  8. I don't know if you have thought about also adding some 1x1 led panels, the kind that's dimmable and gives you both tungsten and daylight. I really enjoy using those especially since you can run them off a camera battery. add some 1x1 cutouts of different diffs as well.
  9. David, the trailer looks great! I was wondering about the shot at 1:13 in the trailer with the girl and the overexposed window. I have a shoot coming up where I am planning on doing something similar outdoors, in the afternoon with the sun backing a young girl, I want that hot overexposure from the background. Did you bring it up in post or did you get that in camera? I am shooting this on a red, I am wondering if I should play it safe and give myself some room in post. Thanks
  10. I've used some of these off brand lights before, they definitely don't match the arri quality, but if your punching them through a frame or diffusion it doesn't really matter. They do tend to leak a bit of light though, especially from the sides, compared to the arri's.
  11. Your dof also depends on your lens, depending on the look you can also try pushing the stock.
  12. Here's one of my favorites, Supper at Emmaus, by Rembrandt, I love how the lighting comes from within the frame.
