  1. I am going to be shooting a documentary that will require me to shoot some skiing footage. I am hoping to capture skiers while skiing next to them, behind them, and infront of them, as well as some POV. I will most likely be using a DVX100A for these shots...the rest of the film will be shot with an SDX900. Does anyone have any experience with this? I am pondering how to keep the shots steady. Some kind of steady-pod perhaps? I've seen Warren Miller's guys use a small camera on the end of a long pole. Would love to hear from anyone who has thoughts on this. Thanks, Chris Pyle Wildland Films
  2. Hi, I just discovered this forum. Glad to see you all here. I am looking at shooting a couple of long-form docs in the near future (heavy on beauty and production value rather than newsy) . I have been considering the sdx-900 for a long time; saw the demo at Moviola a while back. The thing I am stuggling with is that several of my outlets have expressed an interest in HD (PBS, etc.). Real HD is out of my budget, so I have started looking at HDV. However, I would prefer to shoot with the 900 in 24P so was wondering if anyone out there has had any experience going from DVCPRO 50 to HD (for HD broadcast, not film). Thanks so much, Chris Pyle Wildland Films
