  1. I am using a Nizo Professional. In the manual, it says that after holding the electric master switch on the black dot, the aperture pointed must deflect as far as possible to the left (16,22) I just checked the voltage, and the aperture points to 16. Should it point past that to 22, or is this fine? Thanks! Just a bit confused because while shooting today, at points, the camera would stop shooting while the trigger was held. Then I'd let go, hold again, and it would work. Odd...
  2. The other night I shot a few rolls of asa 500 on my Nizo Professional AND Nizo 136XL.. Thinking back now, is the 136XL even capable of using that high speed of a film? If not, will it still turn out? Thanks
  3. Michael, Thank you so much for the detailed response. I am hoping that you are right, and that WAS just the ending strip of the film. I was not monitoring my film gauge, unfortunately. I just remember taking the cartridge out, thinking I'd have shot half way or 3/4 into it, compared to prior experiences with other film types. Maybe like you said, it was short loaded. Today, i will shoot a test roll of B&W on the Nizo Professional, and see what happens. I hope it was the film stock and not my cameras. I'll run my tests and let you know what happens. Thanks again Michael. Like Tim said, 'Detective Lehnert', Super Analysis.
  4. So, I ran into what seems to be a serious problem tonight while shooting.. I pop in a new film cartridge into my Nizo Professional, film several shots and then take the film out to put a different kind.. But when I did, my film looked like this: So I thought maybe it was a faulty roll, so I re-shot everything on a different roll. SAME THING HAPPENED. Luckily, I thought, I brought my 136XL too. And guess what, it did the same thing. The Nizo Professional did this a few days ago but thought it was a fluke. Looks like it wasn't. And the 136XL had NEVER done this before.. Then, I popped in some Tri-X into the back-up camera and nothing like this happened. What does this mean? How do I go on shooting after the film is, what looks like to be cut. I tried pulling the film back into place and keep shooting, but that didn't work. Very scared I blew most of the shots tonight. Does anyone have any ideas? This sucks! Thanks
  5. And one more thing.. I will also have a 20 foot projector, looping black and white sequences from old horror films, with the subject standing in front of the projector.. Any tips for this one? Experimenting is fun, but expensive.. So any recommendations are very much appreciated. Thanks
  6. So, I shot a test roll with my Nizo Professional using B&W ASA 100 and Color ASA 50, and it looks great! I love this camera! Now, I am shooting some lifestyle super 8 tonight for my film.. And its going to be in a pitch black warehouse, with only 2 500 watt studio lights lighting up the subject. I am planning on using ASA 500 film.. Anything I should watch out for? I've never used this type of film before, but I figured, since the lighting will be so low, to give it a shot.. What do you guys think? Thanks!
  7. Michael, I got you. I am just confused because my friend sent me a letter with the camera saying that he used the wrong kind of meter batteries at first and the exposure was a bit off. I can't figure out what he means exactly because he left for Europe for a month... Maybe just a misunderstanding on my end... Thanks again
  8. Thank you for the prompt reply Michael. But if I were to use the meter batteries, how would I do so?
  9. Hi everyone, I've been using a Nizo 136XL for the past 6 months or so and its treated me pretty well. Most of the film came back looking good and it hasn't broken down on me. But a friend of mine just sold me his Nizo Professional for a very good deal I couldn't pass up. He gave me 2 brands of meter batteries with the camera: WeinCell MRB625 and Exell PHOTO Z625PX 1.4V Zinc Air. He advised me to ask around as to which brand I should use. I have never switched out a meter battery, as I used the stock batteries with the 136XL. Anyone know? Also, where do I install the meter batteries? I've looked through the manual, found nothing.. Near the spot in the handle where I put the AA's, I found a couple things that can be unscrewed, but didn't want to mess with anything until I know for sure..... Lastly, Anyone know where I can find an original Braun Nizo Professional leather case? I'd like to be able to fit this camera in my Tamrac bag along with my DCR VX-1000 and my 136XL, and not have to lug around 2 bags like I will be until I sort this out... I look forward to learning and also helping out as much as I am able in the future. Thanks, Rob
