  1. Hey everyone,

I've read a bit on this forum about funding films in part with grants. I am just wrapping on a short film project now, but my next project is a narrative short film that involves PTST and returning veterans.

I think that, if the grant is written right, it would attract some sort of grant money. My question is this: where do I find grant opportunities? Is there a website that lists grants for film?

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Thank you!

  2. Are you just strapped for cash and that's why you don't want to get a light meter? For all the money you're going to spend on developing and digitizing the film, I think a light meter would be a good investment.

If you don't think you're going to be using it very much, then renting one would be a good decision.

  3. Hey everyone,

I have a T2i and I have a Chrosziel matte box that I used to use with my XL2. I was looking into trying to get it to be compatible with my T2i but I'm not really sure what steps I should take. Any suggestions? I know I probably need to get a new baseplate and also a step-down adaptor ring that would fit my Canon lenses and the mattebox. I'm just a little lost on what I should do to get started. Any suggestions would be really helpful.

Here's a picture, if that helps at all. Thanks everyone!

  4. UPDATE and SOULUTION.

Basically, bought a third wire (golden (!) 6-pin to 4-pin Firewire). And it worked.

    Thanks a lot!

Could you give me the link to what kind of firewire cable you bought? I've been having this same problem and I have a feeling it's the firewire cable.

  5. Hi Taylor, thanks for your interest.

    1) It's hard to estimate the hours in the camera but I would say no more than 40 (I have a rack of 50 tapes with footage from this camera, but alot of those tapes are only half-full). For commercial projects I've always rented either high-def equip or a film camera. This was for my personal work. I've never used it to capture, I have a small Canon cam for that. I've had it for about 3 1/2 years, but in that time I've shot more 16mm for myself than DV.

    2) I'm only selling this because I need something smaller and High-def for a personal project I will be traveling around the world for. I love this camera and I hate to see it go. It is a wonderful cam. It's just a touch too big for what I need now.

As I said in the last post, I will sell the whole package (XL2, 16x lens, Chrosziel matte box/FF) PLUS a custom-cut Storm iM2950 case SHIPPED to you (Con US) for $4100.

I will UL a photo of the storm case on Wed morning. Thanks for your interest!

Thanks for the response! I would be interested in seeing a picture of the case as well. In the next day or two, I am going to be going around to my parents/friends/anyone with money to try and scrounge together some loans from them, but I am very interested in the package.

I will contact you via PM in the next couple days, if that's OK with you?
