  1. Hi, Bogen 3046, Manfrotto 3063 fluid head. Great shape. Clean, smooth. I never bought the camera and thus have no use for it. Comes with quick-release plate and pan handle. Ideal for small to midsize cameras. Would handle a DVX fully loaded and then some. Please check it out on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...AMESE%3AIT&rd=1
  2. sorry to bother everyone. i was wondering if it is possible to cancel my membership wtih cine.com, and if so how? thanks, b
  3. thanks, man. sort of surprising that, given the price difference, many people prefer the 100. the canon stock lens, it can be used manually, right? good grief, i hope so. when you say 14X manual, does that mean that it's ONLY manual? also, my brother has a few really nice canon SLR lenses. would they fit on the XL2? thanks again. b
  4. which is the ideal tape for use with the XL2? any? all? i know with the DVX, it requires a specific type of type (panasonic MQ63) for the dry heads or something? what about the XL2? thanks.
  5. Hi everyone. I'd like to buy one of the two, but am not sure which one would be better for my needs. Basically I want the best image quality, and the native 16:9 is a huge draw to the Canon. I would probably never buy another lens if I bought the Canon. Is the stock lens as good as the DVX's Leica? Better? My uses for it would be extreme low-budget film-making and hours of fun times. I'm starting to feel that maybe the Canon is better, but I have no basis for that judgement. Could anyone help me out with a decision? Thank you all.
  6. Hi everyone. Sorry to be the lame duck here, but I have a few questions. PLanning on making my own film(s) with some friends over the coming months, most likely with the DVX100a. It will be done essentially with no budget, just friends who are willing and able. I have experience as an actor, and have been in some films. I have a good eye for cinematography, framing, etc... What I have no clue about is lighting. Is it absurd for me to think that I can get away with shooting a short/feature wtih all natural lighting? Most of it will take place in the woods, but there are a few interior scenes. What are the absolute basics I need know/buy for lighting? THank you all.
  7. Hey everyone. Came so close to buying the DVX100a months back from Profeel. Cancelled for various reasons. Now, and I'm excited about this: B&H has lowered their price from the original $3499, to $3399, and now, $3399 with 300 mail in rebate! a nuisace, but poop, that's dirt cheap! wondering what's up. has something else hit the market? did they finally wise up and and realize no one wants to pay $3500 for it? is the dvx100a still a hot item, something that's not gonna be obselete in a few months? very excited about buything this son of a gun. also, they make no mention of the magic bullet coming with it, but it is my understanding that B&H is definitely reputable and authorized, if not one of the best. am i correct? thank you all - peace out, B
  8. I know this might be beating a dead horse as others have posted regarding gray market purchases, but I thought I'd ask again and try to clarify. Buying the DVX100A from a non-authorized reseller like Profeel, for example - what does this mean? The camera is still US market and comes with Panasonic's warrantee, right? Does it mean that no one will service it if it's Gray Market? What about buying the Mack warrantee for it? Is it only the first year period of the manufacterer's warrantee that you need to worry about if buying from a non-authorized source? Is it really worth the extra $500 to buy authorized? What is really the difference? Thank you all - B
