  1. I'm a student one semester away from graduating and have the oportunity to work on either more stuff for my reel (as of now, I only have four shorts as a DP) or an internship at either Birns & Sawyer or Panavision. It is likely that I won't be able to do both. Which of these options would have a better chance of yielding a job on-set? Thanks in advance. Edgar E Velasco
  2. I'm trying to recreate the shift focus shot from the title sequence in HOUSE for a class project. For those of you unfamiliar with it, It starts out with a shot of a Ct-Scan (i think). Focus is then pulled to reveal the character staring at it. The shot was originally a part of the Pilot episode. Comparing the Wideshot to the original shot you can tell that they are shooting THROUGH the ct-scan image. Now here is the question, which I hope some one can answer. Can you shoot through a normal Ct-scan or was this done with a special one that was transparent? Note: images are in Hyperlinked words.
  3. I'm shooting a 100ft of 16mm film for a project. I'm trying to get this kind of look (attached file). Probably going to need an ISO of at least 400, though I could push a good 100 or a 200. I'm thinking of using a daylight balanced film with tungsten lights to get the color. Any one have any suggestions on the type of film stock I could use that would give me this look?
