  1. a lab sent me a short end of what they said and labeled as 7242. once this test strip was processed it produced an exact negative, which lead me to believe this stock was an internegative. Therefore, can anyone suggest the best method/stocks in achieving the task of blowing-up 8mm neg to 16mm neg.? my previous has been either 8mm neg.-->3383-->7248 or 8mm neg.-->7240 reversal-->3383 thanks again.
  2. sorry, i have 8mm color negs that i need to make 16mm prints of. in the past i have printed the negs onto 3383 with good results, but since im finishing on film and not video i needed to make 16mm neg from the 3383 print. therefore, my guess is an intermediate such as 7242 would allow me to skip a step as well provide better quality.
  3. anyone have idea of latitude of Kodak's 7242 print stock compared to 3383? im attempting to print color negs. i have been successful with the 3383 and 3393 stocks, but now considering an Ip such as 7242 as it may provide better results and save some cash. also considering fuji stocks as well. im using a JK optical printer so like with any situation, prefer larger latitude. thanks for any assistance with this matter.
  4. David is correct. ive shot a lot of thesse stocks through my h-16 w/o any problems of registration so the 100' spool-downs have worked luck so far. live action shooting without filters does provide oddish color shift. i used to do the same with the 35mm still stock kodak varicolor slide film, which i beleive maybe similiar to 16mm color print stocks. so, i would experiment with lighting ssituations and filters/gels.
  5. thanks for the info. wonder why they shift back to europe? that lab has produced several scrath lab films. always quality with dwayne's. hope thing are improving, but regardless, im happy kodak is reconizing the need.
  6. i have always used the EXR 7248 for its contrast and vivid saturated colors. now kodak is moving or catering more for telecine. so this EXR has been replaced by a vision stock that i understand has lower contrast and therefore depleting what i can get with the EXR. i do not go to telecine, i finish in film and so can anyone provide a solution, is there an alternative? i need the saturated colors , deep blacks and higher contrast that 7248 provided. i need this quality. is there any stock left that can achieve what the 7248 tungsten stock provided? im aware of 7245, but i need tungtsten balanced and the slightly faster 100asa range. thanks for any help, robbie
  7. yes, ive used them for color neg processing and printing as well, answer printing. they are good and will figure a way to do what ever i need done. good prices too.
  8. has anyone experienced this high-contrast reversal stock from Fuji? can it be close to the quality of Kodachrome? or higher in contrast? i ask because i need a high-contrast color stock that has rich saturated primary colors. something that is more contrasty than kodachrome, but maintains color saturation. thanks for any help.
