  1. Hello, This may seem like a stupid question but here goes. I had 2 rolls of 16mm fuji 160t left over from a film shoot that had been stored in a friend of mines refrigerator. Unfortunately the house that the film was stored in caught fire recently and the fridge may have reached high temps but I cant be certain. The stock was recovered and the cans seem to be fine. I am currently working as a teaching assistant in a film school and we decided to go ahead and shoot the stock with a class anyway because we get free lab and transfer. My question is if the raw stock did reach a high temp how will it affect the ASA and what can be done in terms of exposure compensation, or is it a total waste of time? Any info would be great.
  2. Hello, I am shooting a short student film in the near future and wondering if i can get away with shooting the vivid 160 stock. I will be shooting on an sr2 with zeiss superspeeds in a theater with access to an entire grid of lekos and pars. I will also have a set of kenos, a couple 1k open face arris, a 1k china ball and an assortment of fresnels 150w-650w. The film is about a stage actor and most of the scenes take place on the stage lit pretty high key. I am focused on getting a high contrast image with a lot of highlights. In some of the test footage I have seen of this stock I really love how rich the blacks are and how punchy the colors are. Will I have enough light to expose this stock rating it at 160? Or would I have better luck shooting the vivid 500 and rating it at 250 and then pulling 1 stop in processing? I am just a little concerned with how grainy the 16mm 500 stock looks. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
  3. Thanks a lot for the very detailed response, I appreciate it.
  4. Hello, I am trying to figure out how to bid my first job. I have got a job making weekly product tutorials for a large fishing products company website. This project will take place over the summer making 12 videos total over the next 3 months. I will be using all of my own equipment (camera, camera support, lights, sound equip, computer/software etc.) How should I go about bidding this, daily, weekly? And how do I incorporate wear on my equipment and my labor. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
  5. Hello I am a film student and I need to write a resume and a cover letter to apply to an internship at Boston Camera. Does anyone know of any templates for resumes in the film business? Or any links that could help guide me to writing a good resume? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  6. Im shooting a short film with the hpx-170 and a letus 35mm adapter w/nikon primes, im wondering if anyone knows a way to display the cameras output via firewire into a macbook pro to make focusing easier because the resolution on the cameras lcd display is inadequate for obtaining critical focus while the resolution on the 17'' macbook pro is borderline hd.
