What about ground towing your humvee? But I prefer greenscreen. It's not so hard to remove clear green from image. Do you recording live sound? What about a little shaking picture virtually on post? Or forget about "we're not authorized to actually drive the humvee" for a couple of minutes ;)

Add more light for background to kill all shadows from the actor. Not too much ;) And soft light for actor of course. Your banner is to close to the actor - only 2 feets. 5 or more feets could be much better. Are text and image printed on the banner? I think a polarizing filter will not help. Pay attention to KNEE of your camcorder.
