I'm a recent college graduate who has been doing some PA work and I am looking for a chance to work as an electrician. I have very little experience besides just helping out on set when the situation has appeared and lighting my student projects. I move to LA with very few contacts and none in G & E. I'm just looking for some advice or assistance.

  1. I've been in LA for 6 months and cannot crack into commercials for the life of me. A year ago I had an internship at a commercial company and made some great contacts. However, I went back East to finish my degree and my contacts have all moved on to other things. I've been bouncing around in reality and other TV shows since being back in LA. I enjoy working on set most of all and I am really interested in Grip and Electric but am more than happy to work as a PA still. Any advice to get back on set and out of my office job would be great. And if anyone wants to suggest anything about my resume go for it. I've attached it. Please and thank you! Megan Megan_Mitchell_Resume_W.pdf
  2. Hi! I'm new to LA and just starting my film career. I am interested in working electric. I've been a PA on some sets and know that is one way to go about getting in. I mainly want to learn more now so that I can be more useful on set. I heard that Mole-Richardson will teach basics if you go there. Does anyone know if this is true or not? Thanks for the help!
