  1. Hi everyone. I recently got a hold of an Canon Canovision 8 Projector-TV. One like these but the early model not the 8-2. http://super8data.com/database/projectors_list/projectors_canon/canon_canovision8_2.htm Im just trying to find out what it could be worth. Its a cool piece, couldn't find any auctions on Ebay or any other Swedish advertising sites... Its fully functional and in good condition. Ive watched my films now and i also have digital copies so i don't have so much use for it anymore, just want to find out if its a rare piece or not. Any thoughts? Anton Bergström Stockholm, Sweden
  2. I cant go to the rentalhouse, otherwise i would just to learn and have a discussion with them. But the rentalhouse is 600 km away, so not anything i pass on the way. Thanks for all the help!
  3. OK thanks for the answer, was something like that it guessed. Expensive to fix?
  4. I got a call from the producer from one of my recent productions saying that the rental house called her and said that one of the lenses where damaged and that it would need repair. Its a Arri/Zeiss Ultra Prime and i called the rentalhouse to see what was damaged. They say that the black coating between the back glass and the PL mount was scratched,., a thing that could happen if you're not careful when changing lenses. My question is what does a scratch on that part do? Why is that black coating there? It the black coating on the bottom of the picture. Thanks for all the help and explaination i can get. /Anton
  5. We have 2 RED's at my work now. With a set of zeiss 16-85mm so i could really train with them i guess. Going to use the FF4. What do you think about the LMB5 compared to a swing away model like MB18? I really need everything for the AC kit, or im borrowing a Leica Disto and some tape measures from another AC. Just thinking of those extra special stuff that you always have use of. We are going to be outdoors mostly.
  6. I got it all OK. Its more that it's my first feature and time efficiency, smart tips and so on. I´ve been working as DP, 1st and 2nd depending on the size of the projects so never any big DP stuff. Im sitting with 2 RED's at work so those are not the issue. I just would like tips and smart things to think about on set in terms of focus pulling. /A
  7. Im going to work on my first feature in a month from now. I been working as an DOP, AC, 2nd AC for 1,5 years mainly with commercials all shoot on RED. Please just fill me with info about stuff i can do to prepare for the feature. Im walking around guessing distances and then measure from time to time, Reading about other in the same situation and just filling my head with info. It will all be shot on RED with the Zeiss HS-series 18 - 85 mm. What do you prefer, the LMB5 or say an MB18 that has the swing away model? Any good advice, books, websites, charts for DOF or stuff that you wanna share with me? What do i need in my AC bag? What do you always forget? and what is critical if you forget? Thanks Anton
  8. I also work in this studio and wonder if anyone has worked with these cyc lights on a filmset? My other question is do you try to get the perfect greenscreen as in 1. As narrow band of green as possible 2. As even screen as possible I hear different things all the time, post production people love the kinos with green tubes and sometimes they dont want them. For example in a wide shoot of the floor included where you really dont want to blast green tubes och the floor and automaticly bouncing it on the actor. But you dont want that big gradient of different types of green either, and that is whats your about to get if you have green tubes on the wall but not on the wall. So should we use kinos with greentubes and just get both the floor and the wall bright and in different types of green or does anyone have an idea?
