    Cinematographer
  1. I just discovered some videos on youtube that are absolutly breath taking And by far some of the best shot I have seen in a while. I was wondering if someone know where thoses video come from? and from which Cinematographer? Is there a "making of" that we can see? What camera did they use? Phantom Camera for slow motion? How do you think they achieve this? How did they get this lightning? (Look at 1:54min for one of the best shot) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IDKLXsz5nT0&feature=related (Look at 3:33min for the best shoot) Any detail will be appreciate! Thank you!
  2. It's a good collection. But yet i feel it was incomplete as a 'learning dvd'. It look a lot like a normal 'making of' from a dvd movie but it is only the director of photography who speak. That is why i'm still looking for better learning dvd.
  3. I'm looking for the best cinematography DVD that teach equipment and technique. ex : (Gale Tattersall workshop)seem to be good but he doens't have a dvd yet. The one I already have is Kodak Lightning collection. Is there other dvd or video that are good?
  4. Here the official music video that I really love the cinematography : Here the making of the music video : Can you tell what is the camera in this making of? lens? Steadicam? Lightning (with the small softbox)?
  5. Is the lee 4x4 compatible with most lens? and how do we get photoshop to work with premiere?
  6. I am doing my very first job as Director Of Photagraphy for a Music Video. And It will be my first experience with the Canon 5d Mark II I am mostly a fashion photographer, So I pretty know my way around light. But I feel anxious about this project. I fear it will look like 90% of bad semi-amateur music video wich is not our goal at all despite the low budget 1500$ and many location in short time (3 days). We even created a DIY Ringlight that work pretty well for the project. Here 3 videos (from the same person)we love and look to get the same effect : Here is most of his setup : Cam : 5D Mark II @ F8 Lens : Old Nikon 20mm + eBay adapter Filter : Schneider optics 4X4 circular polariser and 1/2 stop graduated neutral density filter. Lee 4X4 filter holders Color Correction was done in Photoshop CS4 and "Editing" in Premiere CS4 Where can I buy this schneider optics 4x4 circular polariser? And the lee filter holder? Doe's most of his work was done in post-production with premiere or photoshop? They're cannot be any mistake since I have the camera only for 3 days during the photoshoot. Any help to make sure the lens, filter holder, filter will fit and look like the result from the video above will be highly appreciate. Thank you !!
  7. I have around 1000$ to spend on light gear I have look around for many company, Arri, Kinoflo and the other "standard" I'm mainly looking for : - Powerful light(with dimmer) - Portable (if possible) - Compatible with Alien bees Octabox (if possible) - Versatile If you we'e me, What would you buy ? I would love to have your opinnion on that ! Thank you!!
  8. I looking for website that is focused on gear news. Camera, Lightning, Dolly etc... doe's that exist? I have so far find many websites about film gear but yet, they seem to talk mainly for low budget film (with a dv camcorder for example...)
  9. What is the filter they used to get that look on Titanic? I heard james cameron (in the comments of the dvd) saying it's a 81B Filter. Is it from Tiffen? and do you know the light they used?
