Hi, I'm thinking of getting this one vario switar lens for the bolex, but it's missing that handle for some reason. Does anyone have one lying around they could sell? Or know of a place where I can get one? Thanks.

Thanks Dom, I'll try that. I think you may be right, it's something with the rexofader.

My friend is selling a bolex rex-5, and he asked me to help him test it, since I have an older version. I tried to wind this one, and it's not moving. The usual steps were taken. Switch is on MOT, not 0. The button at the bottom is in the "stop" position, not M. The rex-5 also has the newer rexofader attached, which I don't particularly know how to use, and wasn't sure if that has anything to do with the winding issue. But anyway, when I try winding it, it's not moving, kinda feels like it's stuck maybe. But maybe it's some internal thing that needs to be taken to a professional?

I noticed Wong Kar Wai shot this way in at least a couple movies: blurry motion, at near regular speed. How would you shoot that? Do you set FPS to lower than usual, and then speed up afterwards? Or what else can you do? This is what I'm referring to:
