  1. Someone recently gave me an old Beaulieu 4008 battery so I'm gearing up to re-cell another bunch of 4008 batteries if anyone is interested. Price is $90 USD per battery + shipping. You will get the newest Varta 600mAh cells that are an additional 33% increase in capacity over the older Varta 450mAh batteries i was using last year. For reference the older 450mAh celled batteries will shoot 12-15 cartridges. $90 is an excellent price. I've also have another re-celled Beaulieu 2008 battery (450mAh cells) if anyone wants it for $50 USD + shipping. IMPORTANT! - The old Beaulieu chargers will DAMAGE the older Varta 450mAh and new 600mAh cells. DO NOT USE the old Beaulieu charger with your new batteries. I've located and use a new "smart" charger for use with the Varta batteries. Pictures of the re-cell process and my computer controlled weld head can be seen at the link below - http://homepage.mac.com/tom.houston/Custom...Head/index.html I'd also be interested in re-celling an R16 battery if anyone has one that they'd like re-celled. I haven't done one yet but I'll work out a special price if someone is willing to send me one. Tom

  3. Yes, I an looking for a Kinoptic viewfinder for my ACL. Although isn't the fully orientable Angenieux viewfinder the same for both the ACL and NPR cameras? They look identical to each other. Tom
  4. Anyone have one for sale or know where I could find one? I'd be willing to give up my Angeniuex viewfinder if someone is willing to swap plus cash. Thanks! Tom

  8. Would you be willing to share the pictures of the rod system? Thanks again for the info! Tom
  9. Glenn, I wasn't able to find American Cinematographic Systems through a Google search...Do they only have an email presence? R/ Tom
  10. I'm looking for a small matte box for my Eclair ACL. I'd like something similar to the one shown on the Ikonskop. http://www.image-acquire.com/ikonoskopds8.jpg Has anyone seen one that would work? Thanks!!
  11. Ara, Thanks for the information! I've been in contact with Kodak about the R-10 bleach and they have a solution for me that is premixed part A & B Kodak chemicals. They come ready to make 20 Gallons at a time but they have another mixing formula that will allow me to mix one liter at a time which is more my speed. When I receive the information, I'll post it here. As a matter of fact, the guys at Kodak asked if others would be interested in knowing the solution and asked me for suggestions on how to get the information out to the masses. Nice guys!! Tom
  12. Twist it to the left and it should screw off the camera.
  13. I've been searching for weeks for all of the parts and pieces to hand process some Tri-X 7266 in my Lomo tank. Right now I think I have everything except for the bleach. My list of chemicals is below: Kodak D-76 Developer CAT146 4817 Kodak Hypo Clearing Agent CAT146 4254 Kodak Fixer CAT197 1746 Kodak Photo-Flo CAT146 4510 I'm still missing the Kodak B&W Reversal Bleach that is called out in the technical specs for 7266. Does anyone know where I could purchase some and is my list of chemicals correct or am I missing something else? I'm not even going to get into development times at this point... Thanks for your help!
  14. Matthew, Buy some Ektachrome 64T and shoot it in your camera. Then take it to your local WalMart and have them process it for $6.88 per roll. Do this a few times to get the hang of the particular camera you're using and to see the results before you take the step toward shooting the Negative type Vision2/3 series stocks. At some point if you're serious about Super8 you'll want to consider a telecine machine to get all of your reversal only stocks into the computer. You can also do Negative with some work as well but it's a little more involved. I've shot some test footage from several cameras I own and put it up on YouTube for reference. Check them out at: http://www.youtube.com/user/thouston314159 If you need some telecine done to get you started, send me a PM and I'll do it for you at no cost.
  15. Almost forgot: I put some sound captures up on DVXinfo last year. The thread below has some sample audio recorded with my FR-2 using different mics. http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/canon-xh-series...ved-i-love.html Tom
  16. I use a Fostex FR-2 modified by Oade brothers with an AKG-C422 stereo mike and it is wonderful and quiet. Works well for both live performances and dialog. The recorder will also record to SSD. Link below. http://www.oade.com/digital_recorders/hard...-2_upgrade.html Tom
