I got the job one day before the shoot via the then film union A.C.T.T . Production were asking for young camera operators and I was certainly young .

Yes thats me . I only was involved with shoot on the roof for one day . The same stock would have been used for indoors and out. Outside using a 85 correction filter bringing the speed down to 64asa.

David didn't own any lenses or any equipment apart from light meters , two of which I have .

Yes Badlands co-photographed by your Father .
-
That would have been Eastman 5247 100 ASA he may have pushed it a stop very common with that stock then.
-
No she is in it ! Be even worse on a TV screen .

I have seen this twice now first time Imax 15/70 film print only print in Europe usually my favorite way to watch .In this case oh a dear a very grainy odd looking print not good at all. Second time a 4K DCP on a very large screen looked so much better . Wasn't impressed with the Cinematography run of the mill ordinary stuff. As for the film it was ok lots of silly story lines way to long came away feeling a bit let down.

It was the first stock I had to use when started at the doco. company I worked for. So as David said it was a lowish stock that was then printed onto a Kodachome release print stock . One of the first films I had to shoot was a Medical training film a hip replacement to hold the depth of field I need a stop of about 5.6 I used so much light that blood in the wound started steaming ! Not a great time .

On my opening post I said 80's film references meaning nods to Spielberg and other movies of that era not about the look of this series although I do like the look of it even though it was shot on a Red camera .
-
What a great series this was so many 80's films references plus looked fantastic .

Looked very nice .But I have no idea why money was wasted on a remake of a good Don Siegel film.
