  1. Where do you guys learn about this stuff?
  2. What you described sounds like the perfect opportunity to be creative. Your options are endless, almost to the point where you don't have to justify light sources. Personally, I would utilize color and contrast heavily, but you obviously know more about the project. Green and yellow often work well to create a twisted, sick feeling in horror. For contrast, keep the lights hard and few. As for the location, if you don't want it bland, work on some set design/art direction or if that isn't an option for whatever reason, use some cookies/snoots whatever to break up the dull background.
  3. At the higher levels, "Green" is more of a new industry than a movement. Sure the grassroots people are there, but even most of them are misinformed. They were calling for the dawn of a new ice age in TIME MAGAZINE no more than a few decades ago. The government seems to be offering a lot of subsidies, but small business is going to hurt. Of course, this is all just my opinion, except for the Time thing.
  4. There was a film that addressed the same issues as Dr. Strangelove, but I cannot remember it for the life of me.
  5. So this is a sort of dual purpose thread. First, Hi. My name is Alex, I recently graduated from Ohio University with a degree in video production, probably going back eventually for a masters in film. Trying to find a job, to no avail. I've been lurking on this forum for a while, just to learn as much as possible, but I find myself reading threads and feeling like I haven't learned a thing about the technical side of filmmaking. I consider myself pretty able on the the theory side of things, and even the practice for the most part. But when it comes to camera technology, post effects, and so on, I feel like I missed the boat. I know the basics of course, but does anyone have any reading or something they would recommend to learn and keep up on this stuff? Thanks.
