  1. Hey all! this is my first post on this forum. I use to have a canon super 8mm camera but recently on a local auction site (I'm based in New Zealand) I managed to pick up a nice Beaulieu 4008 zm2 with a working original battery and battery pack adaptor. After a bit of research and deciding I do not like electronic zooms, I removing the silly auto controls off the lens. Everything seems to be working fine with the camera and I'll be ordering another battery or battery pack soon for it. However I do have one question. When I look through the viewfinder and press the back trigger I get a light reading..however as soon as I push the film advance trigger the meter arrow drops a couple of stops...is this normal?
  2. Hello everyone, im new to super 8 but have always wanted to give it a go (so this might sound like a silly question)...well finally i broke down this year and got myself a Nalcom camera, but these beast are a little ungainly so im swapping it for a Nizo 156XL which is in wonderful condition. I have read a few posts that some nizo cameras cannot meter with 64t without a ND filter, however I have never been a fan of reflective metering or automatic modes so i was wondering if i switched to full manual mode can i use my handheld meter without any camera modifications (if im correct i can calculate the correct exposures based on the shutter degree?) Cheers Steve
