thanks for you help! I am going to try to a test first.

I'm shooting on a Bolex H16 with 200 speed black and white film stock at 24 fps. The lenses I have can open to a 1.4 and a 1.6. The strobe light I have can be adjusted to flash at 1-15 flashes per second. The scene is in a small room and I can use lights, but I really want it to be dark with just the strobe light lighting the room. If I can't expose with only the strobe light how much light can I use to still make it seem that the only light is coming from the strobe? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
