are you still looking for a Schwem FP-1? I have many experience in shooting with a Schwem but also just in 4:3, i remeber that i did some test shootings in 16:9 with my Schwem and a DVW-700. Didn´t remeber that i had problems with vignetting. Generally the Schwem have some shading problems, but you can adjust this in the shading settings of the camera. No big deal for a technician. Compilled lens specific setups for all of my lenses, according to lens file settings of up-to-date hd camcorder.
