  1. Hi ! What do you mean: Is a Super Baltar 20mm or 32mm combinable with a Baltar (not Super Baltar, but 'old' Baltar) 50 mm ? How is the difference ? I'd likw to shoot on Super 16 film . . . I'm not really sure how a Super Baltar lens blends in with a Baltar or even Kowa Cine Prominar lens . Thanks Micha
  2. How can I get a similar look in a 16mm film (colors, contrasts etc.) ? I'd like to get such a soft and 'emotional dramatic' look in a short film, which will be shot on Super 16 film. Which lenses are most similar to primo lenses ?
  3. Hi, I'm looking for a housing to use a Kowa Cine prominar 32mm lens head with BNCR, PL or Arri mount. Does anybody know some ? Thanks. Micha

  7. Hello Zakaree, that's very interessting. What was after the time of the super baltars, when Bausch and Lomb stopped the production of this lenses (in the late 70s or when) ? The last Mitchell cameras, which lenses did they have: Was ist canon K35 or Kowa ? What was more expensive, Kowa, Super Baltar or Canon ? Michael
  8. Which kowas do you have, the 'cine prominar' ? And which lenses are sharper ? The kowas seem to be less 'dramatic' than the super baltars, aren't they ?
  9. Is such a lens like this one on the picture really radioactive (more than a old cooke speed panchro ser.II) ? Is it one of the newer or the older super baltars for mitchell bncr ?
  10. Here is the picture of this lens I found long time ago (sorry, it's very bad quality)
  11. Here is a picture of this lenses I've seen: For which cameras were this lenses made is there any difference to the super baltars for Mitchell BNCR ? Michael
  12. Hello ! I've got some questions about Super baltars: Which Kowa lenses are the 'copys' of them and very similar ? The cine prominar -lenses or which types ? There are some Super Baltar lenses with the metall-rings on it and some lenses without this rings, they look a little bit different. Whats the difference ? Does anyone have some Informations about the serial-numbers and the age of the lenses? Does anyone have some documents or brochures (in PDF) of this lenses ? Thanks Michael
  13. Hi tulio, do you know this lenses ? I'm very interested in them. How is their look compared to the switars ? Are there sharper or softer than them ? I don't understand, why this cine nikkors are so rare and nearly nobody knows anything about them . . . Micha
  14. Does anyone have got documetations or flyer (perhaps as pdf) of the baltars and super baltar lenses ? What about the serial numbers ? Where can I find out, how old the lenses are ? thanks
  15. Hello ! I'm looking for an adaptor to use cameflex-lenses on Arri-St or Arri-bayonett cameras, or on c-mount cameras like bolex for example. Are there any adaptors for this ? What about the old Mitchell-Standard-Mount ? What can I do to use this lenses on other cameras ? Thanks Michael
  16. There are Super Baltars with metall rings at the front side and there are some lenses, Super baltar too, without this rings or 'grips'. Which are the older ones ? What is the difference between this lenses ?
  17. Hello, That's right. I've got the Sopelem Monital 20-100mm / 2,1 too. I was very surprised when I saw the good results. For which camera was It made ? It's a nice lens. It's really as good as a other lenses, like Switar POE or Angenieux. (better than the 12-120 Angenieux). But there are some Som Berthiot lenses, which really aren't good, like for example the Pan-Cinor 17-170 . . . But there some
  18. Hello ! Which lenses were usually used with Mitchell Cameras in the 60s, 70s an 80s ? I think the prime lenses were most Super Baltars, the zoom lenses first som Berthiot Pan Cinor and later Cooke. Does anybody know details ? Micha
  19. Hi! I've got seen a very, very old Zoom-Lens Som Berthiot Pan-Cinor 38-155 mm 3,8 and it has got a Mitchell BNCR-Mount. How is the quality and the charakter of these old lenses ? I think most of the Zoom lenses used on Mitchel 35mm Cameras were Cooke lenses. Does anybody know a film in which this lens was used ? Why are Som Berthiot lenses so cheap compared to other lenses of the same age ?
  20. Yes, OK . . . . But the lenses which were used were the Super Baltars, weren't they ?
  21. Hi ! Does anybody know which lenses were used in 'The Birds' ? I Think It were the Super baltars, but which focal lenght was used in which scene ? Was the Super Baltar 20mm used in that film too ?
  22. does anybody know which films were made with the older baltar lenses (not super baltars) ? 'The Birds' has been filmed with the super baltars. Does anybody know which scenes were filmes with which focal length, for example the super baltar 20 mm ?
  23. Is there a difference between the Baltars and the super Baltars in their look or their quality like sharpness, contrast etc. ? I'm interrested in a baltar 30mm 2,3 with cameflex mount. How much is it's worth ? Is the price of $ 300,- too high ? (I think yes)
  24. I don't believe that this lens has been rehoused; it seems to cover S16mm and it's a little bit larger than the old lenses from the early 70s. Perhaps I can send you a photo by email, if you send me a private message. Micha
  25. Hello, I've got some questions about the older Zeiss High Speed Prime lenses from the 1970s: How is there quality compared to newer or even Ultra and Master primes ? Whats the difference between lenses with T* coating and without ? (older with Arri St often don't have T* in contrast to Arri Bayonett or PL) What about the lenses for 16mm ? I Think they will cover Super 16, won't they ? I've got seen a lens High Speed distagon 1,2/16mm (T*) with a serial number 26XXXXX. I don't think that It will be 50 years old, I think it looks newer. It has got a arri steel bayonett, too. It looks very similar to the other Zeiss lenses from the late 1970s or eraly 1980s. Could It be a lens which was made for the ddr east germany ? (and so it has got another serial number ?) thanks. Micha
