  1. Hello ! You often find older schneider lenses for Arriflex 16mm and 35mm, for example the Schneider Xenon 2,0/50mm. I#m not sure, but I think nearly nobody does really like them; some people told me Schneider lenses would be the not really good and they hadn't got any look and feel. And I don't understand why this lenses are so cheap; Zeiss lenses of the same age are very expensive compared to Schneider: You can buy 3 or 4 Schneider lenses for the same price . . . What's the handicap of the schneider lenses, especially of the lenses for 35 mm ? Micha
  2. I've got tried it on 16,8 Volt for a short time. Than the motor makes 24 frames/second . . . But I'm worried to use the motor on 16,8 Volt . . .
  3. Thanks for your answer. The motor works on 12 Volt; but it only makes 16 frames/second, not 24. Shall I test it with 16,8 Volt or would 16,8 Volt be much enough to damage the motor ? Sorry for my bad English, Thanks, Michael
  4. Thanks for your answer. How is the name of the lens-mount ? I think it's the bigger one of the lomo lenses, isn't it ?
  5. Hello ! I've got a funny Konvas 2m Camera with an electric motor. Which voltage does it need ? 12 Volt or 16,8 Volt ? It has got a neutric-similar socket with 7 pins. Which pin usually has got + and which has got - ? Is it the same as Arri ? Thanks !
  6. Hello ! I'm interrested in Nikon Cine-Lenses: How is their quality and look ? Whats the difference between them and normal Nikkor-Lenses for still photography ? Are Cine-Nikkors not as good as Kern Switar lenses in c-mount ? Thanks
  7. Hello, does anyone know, which lenses and films were used to make the film Dead poet's society ? MichA
  8. Hello ! What do you think will be after 2010 about processing of Kodachrome films ? I think, there are still a lot of unexposed films in the world and I'm not sure, if there is really no lab which will be able to process kodacheomes . . . What do you thing ? Does anyone know something new ? Michael
  9. sorry, I have made a stupid mistake. Now I know what you mean. I thought about KONVAS cameras  , and they most had lomo lenses . . . And what about the Photo-Lenses made by Kowas ? Are they as good as the cine lenses or aren't they ? Thanks.
  10. Hello ! Which Kowa lenses do you mean ? The Kowa lenses made by 'Lomo' ? (for example Lomo 2,0 28 mm OKC7-28) ore are there more lenses originally made by Kowa ?
  11. Hi. Thanks for your answer. What do you thing is the difference between Speed Panchros and Baltars ? Do you like Som Berthiot Pan-Cinor too ?
  12. yes, that's right. I love lenses like speed panchro Ser.II and III for example. But not the Som Berthiot Pan-Cinor lenses. Now I like to start to film with Bausch and Lomb lenses, but I haven't got one of it and I would like to buy one. And so I'm not sure what I should prefer: The Baltar 30 mm or perhaps a Super Baltar 32 mm. Do you have an photo, which has been taken with such a Baltar ?
  13. Hello ! Is the Baltar 30 mm very similar to the 'newer' Super Baltar lenses or isn't it as 'good' as the Super Baltar 32mm for example ?
  14. I mean compared to the older Switar 1,4 / 25 mm (non preset).
  15. The Kern Switar 1,1 / 26 mm is a very wanted lens and it's very expensive on the second hand market. I filmed with such a lens a few month ago and I wasn't very happy with the results: Very low sharpness and low contrasts. But the colors seems to be very vivid. OK, it's a very fast lense, but whats so special about this lens that it's such expensive ? Thanks
  16. Hello ! Thanks for your answer. I thought Super Baltar lenses (for example with Mitchell BNCR mount) would have been made during the 1960's. I mean the big lenses with this beautifull metal-rings. The older Baltar 30 mm is black and its a little bit smaller. It was made for Cameflex. I think it's a very rare lens, isn't it ? Aren't the Super Baltar lenses (Mitchell BNCR) as good as the Cooke Speed Panchros ?
  17. Hello ! I'm interested in Bausch & Lomb Super Baltar Lenses. How is their look an d feel ? How is the difference compared to lenses like Speed Panchros ? What's about the old lens Baltar 30 mm (a lens with cameflex mount, 2,5 30 mm). How is its quality and look ? Thanks Micha
  18. Thank you for your answer. I haven't got so much lenses, most of it are older oder even very old lenses. I have some Kern Lenses, some Schneider Cinegon C-Mount lenses or Cooke Speed Panchro. What about Zeiss Lenses (Distagon 16 mm or 24 mm, non T*) with Arri Standard ? Are they better than the other lenses ? Or should I better use some never lenses like Master prime or Cooke S4 ? I think, the kodachrome looks a little bit 'old' , doesn't it ? Thanks Michael
  19. Hello, I want to film on Kodachrome 25 this summer and I've heard that the Kern Lenses are ideal for the Kodachrome films, because of the coating and the color balance and contrast. Some say, that Kern lenses were especially optimated for kodachrome. Is that true ? I like Cooke Speed Panchro better (for negative film) and I'm not sure what I should do. What do you think ? What would you do to get best results ? I don't like to test it before, because I haven't got enough film stock any more . . . Michael
  20. Hello ! I have got a roll of Agfa Gevaert Gevachrome 702. How old is this film ? (until when was it produced ?) How is the look and the quality of this film ? thanks
  21. And what's about the Schneider Cinegon 10 mm c-mount ? Will it cover Super-16 too ?
  22. Hello ! I want to ask you what's the difference between Speed Panchro Ser. II and Speed Panchro Ser.III. The Ser. III lenses are often more expensive than the lenses of Ser.II. Is there really such a big difference in quality ? In which years were they made ? And what about the kinetals ? How good are they ? (sorry for my bad english) Michael
  23. Hello ! I'm interessted in older lenses to film on 16 mm or 35 mm. I would like to get a look of 'sexy skin' and organic, nearly dirty feel in a film. I think lenses like Speed Panchro Ser II are really OK to do that, aren't they ? What would you do ? What about lenses like Rodenstock Heligon 1,2/32 mm or 1,9/ 50 mm ?. How is their look ? Is the quality of the lenses with arri-mount better then the quality of lenses wit Kodak-Retina or M-42 mount or is the same ? And what about Kern ? Thanks for your answers. Michael
